| There was an incident in middle school that I had gone through... It was concert band and I think it was my 8th grade year. We had an opportunity to play a concert at Ma`ema`e School, like I had remembered my brother did when he was in middle school while I was still a little munchkin. Anyway, in order to do that, it required a field trip form that needed signatures from teachers from classes that was going to be missed. I remembered to get all signatures except for one -- that was P.E. I think I forgot because I love sports so much, I got excited. hahaha (loser). So I missed the due date to turn in the permission form to band class because of ONE signature. I asked my band teacher if I could turn it in late and get it signed later. He asked, "What's your excuse?" And I wasn't sure what to tell him... so from the lack of planning a white lie ahead of time, I said, "I don't know." That's when he replied, "You don't know? That's not a good enough excuse. Try again." and I just kept reiterating myself, standing there like an idiot for 5 minutes, thinking of a reason why I didn't get one of my teachers to sign. It sucked even more because there were a couple of other classmates that forgot one signature, turned in the form late and they still went. I asked them, "What did you tell him? How'd you get to turn it in so late?" and they said, "I just told him 'I forgot' and he accepted it." I was soooo upset!! mostly at myself though. and I felt so stupid. That's such a simple answer when I was thinking soo hard of what to tell Mr. Hasuko. But how in the world is "I forgot" an acceptable answer!? Especially with him, he's a really strict, disciplining kind of teacher. So in the end, I didn't go... (By the way, one event in my life that I wish I had gone to.) But is that really a legit excuse??? >_< |
